Do you eat on the go, in the car or at your desk? The best way to eat for good digestion (and to avoid overeating) is to always sit down while eating and in a relaxed environment. Don’t eat mindlessly in front of the TV or computer, or while on your phone!

Eat slowly and take time to taste your food. Savour the varying textures and varying tastes. Eating quickly (stuffing food in too fast) strains your stomach and intestines, creating indigestion, bloating and cramps. To enhance digestion, chew slowly.

Eat when you’re relaxed. If you’re tired, upset or stressed, you are more likely to eat for comfort rather than for enjoyment. And this also leads to overeating. So be sure to take your time while eating and chew your food thoroughly!
